The Government of Burundi is planning celebratory events in Bujumbura on July 2, which will likely be declared a national holiday. The exact details of the celebration activities have yet to be announced, but the Embassy expects a large parade to take place as part of the festivities.
Actions to Take:
- Avoid areas where large crowds are gathered
- Exercise caution when in the vicinity of any large groups, protests or demonstrations
- Avoid using these roads as they could be closed:
- Boulevard du 28 Novembre
- Boulevard de L’Uprona
- Place de L’Indépendence
- Avenue Belvédère
- Boulevard de la Tanzanie (Roca Golf Hotel area)
