October 25, 2017
The Diversity Visa Lottery Program 2019 (DV-2019) entry period that began on October 3 was closed due to a technical issue that has now been resolved.
As a result of the technical problem, all entries submitted from October 3–10 are no longer valid and have been excluded from the system. If you received a confirmation number or other documentation for an entry made from October 3–10, please destroy it because it is not valid.
A new entry period for DV-2019 began at noon (EDT) on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 and will close at noon (EST) on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Only entries submitted during this period will be accepted and considered for selection in the Diversity Visa Lottery Program.
The entry form and complete instructions for submitting a free entry in the DV-2019 program are available on the Department of State’s web page: usvisas.state.gov/dv/instructions.
Entries will not be accepted through the U.S. Postal Service.
Many internet websites advertise services for assistance with submission of Diversity Visa program entries, and in many countries, visa facilitators, visa agents, or visa coordinators offer assistance with the DV process.
Although these services and businesses may be available, the online entry application is simple and free of charge. We strongly encourage entrants to complete the DV program entry without such unnecessary cost or assistance.
The entry form and complete instructions for submitting a free entry are available on the Department of State’s web page: usvisas.state.gov/dv/instructions.
